My teaching partner and I created a lesson plan to introduce double-entry journals as a reading strategy. We oriented our lesson around tenth grade standards, and then taught our peers how we and our students can apply double-entry journals to actively engage with texts.

Reading Strategy Micro-teaching

In collaboration with my teaching partner, I introduced seed discussions as a reading strategy this fall to our peers. The seed discussion approach is a two-part strategy used to teach students how to engage in discussions about assigned readings with the assistance of a graphic organizer.

Enjoy this lesson plan promoting engagement with active and passive sentence structure through technology. I co-created this 60-minute plan, which is tied to Minnesota eighth grade grammar standards as well as ISTE standards, with my course partner.
